Buddhist psychology and meditation helped form my understanding of how the mind works and how we can achieve more equanimity. I have been practicing Vipassana meditation since 1983, when I found an immediate sense of hopefulness that I could learn to work more effectively with my fiery emotions.
My initial formal training was in Psychosynthesis, which integrates Eastern and Western psychology and focuses on working with will and intention, and with subpersonalities or the parts of ourselves which provide both challenges and resources.
My conventional training was in Social Work at Springfield College where I obtained an MSW. In the past 10 years, I have moved into more spiritual oriented studies.
I have studied with The Tibetan, channeled by the late Moriah Marston; worked with Anodea Judith (the queen of Chakras); participated in a range of classes with Haleya Priest and Thom Levy, including Angels, Akashic Records, Reiki, and crystals; and Feng Shui, Tarot, and chakra work with Patti Newton. I have trained in Hypnosis with Judy Kurzer ; completed Somatic Experiencing with SE staff, and Integral Somatic Psychology with Raja Selvam. These experiences continue to expand my perspective of the options and supports that are available to us in healing and integrating wounded parts. I offer a vision of optimism to my clients.
